I've got to say this might just be my most favourite mini scene that I've ever done! I was inspired to create for the MinisModernas contest and created this contemporary loft overlooking downtown Vancouver, Canada. I was inspired by this real life loft space I saw on google which had these large windows and L-shaped sofa and went on from there.
The artwork in the picture below (the girl jumping on the bed with books) is a 1:12 copy of one of my life size original pieces which you can see on my artist portfolio website . I've done several series using miniatures and dollhouses, this one is part of the Future Nostalgia collection from 2011.
I made the windows using a new technique too. I framed with balsa and then I added a printed transparency with a grid behind. I hope to take more photos when I return next week and hopefully make something to add to my photography series.
I can't believe this scene is finished, it was a mad dash with less then two weeks from start to finish! Whew!
